The City of Eden Prairie is a vibrant community located in the
southwest metropolitan area of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. The
55,000 + people who call Eden Prairie home have a strong sense of

Eden Prairie is one of the "second ring" suburbs, located 10 miles
south of Minneapolis, which has attracted corporate wealth like
Supervalu, Best Buy, the Minnesota Vikings, GE Capital Fleet
Services and more. Eden Prairie Center is one of the major indoor
malls in the Twin Cities suburbs.
Eden Prairie is known for its attractive residential neighborhoods,
which are connected by more that 70 miles of multi-use trails and
surrounded by 2,250 acres of parks and 1,300 acres of preserved for
open space. Housing is abundant,
if expensive, in the $200,000 plus range, with lots of townhomes and
apartments.
There are two regional parks and 27
city parks in Eden Prairie. Bicycling for recreation is a way of
life here and there are 50 plus miles of hiking and biking trails.
There are many sports leagues for children and adults and two golf
courses. Flying Cloud regional airport is on the south side of the
city and includes a World War II aircraft museum.
Eden Prairie is also home to a thriving business community with
over 2,100 businesses, including major employers such as Supervalu,
American Family Insurance, G.E. Capital, Eaton Corporation, ADC
Telecommunications, Lifetouch, MTS Systems, and Rosemount
Engineering.
Completely renovated in 2001, the flourishing Eden Prairie Center
is home to Target, Sears, Von Maur, and Mervyn's Department Stores,
and over 100 other shops, stores, and restaurants including Wildfire
and Biaggi's. Eden Prairie is located in Hennepin County.
